Today is our team party for my son’s first grade basketball party. He’s so excited for the party – not because it’s pizza but because he gets a TROPHY! I decided to add to the fun by whipping up these totally Easy Marshmallow Pops for the kids!
Making marshmallow pops has got to be one of the easiest treats to make. And they are so fun for any occasion! All you need are marshmallows, sticks (paper straws in this case), chocolate melts (I used orange and white), wax paper and edible sugars/embellishments.
In case you’ve never made them, they are definitely something you can do easily. My kids have both helped – and they are 6 and 3! An adult should melt the chocolate per the package instructions. These marshmallows are the HUGE ones, so I used a knife to poke a hole that went about 2/3 of the way into the marshmallow.
Dip the straw (or stick) into the melted chocolate and smoosh it into the marshmallow.
Set the marshmallow aside to cool and for the chocolate to set.
Once they’ve set, you’re ready for dipping. I usually dip the marshmallow only about half way (to 2/3) into the melted chocolate. Immediately sprinkle with your sugars and set on wax paper to harden.
Once they are hard, you can leave them as-is if you’ll be eating soon otherwise you can store them in a sealed container until you need them. Or if you are giving them as treats, use the small treat bags and some bakers twine like I did here.
I hope they love them! We loved making them – especially since the only thing I had to buy was the chocolate melts.
