I love summer – and I love doing random “little things” to make summer fun for my kids. I knew that when I got a snow-cone machine for Mother’s Day that we were going to have a lot of fun this summer shaving ice and creating fun and fruity flavors! So to make our snow cone machine even more fun than it already is, I created this snowcone bunting to decorate our table. (Be sure to check out the full size banner that I created for Toni at Design Dazzle! You’ll see more on that at the end of the post….so keep scrolling!)
I assembled it in about 10 minutes and used the supplies I had on hand. The banner was printed on standard white cardstock and trimmed to size using my paper trimmer. I taped (yes- TAPED) the pink yarn to the back of the letters – although you could just as easily thread the yarn through each letter and it wouldn’t take that much longer. And your kids would probably love to use your hole punch and practice their lacing skills.
Once the banner was strung, I used a couple of white sticks that we had leftover from the stick balloons that the salesperson at our local Old Navy gave to the kids (and I quickly confiscated because they were hitting each other with them)! I decorated the sticks with some yellow washi tape I had in my stash (yay for Pick Your Plum) and stuck the sticks into some craft foam. Super simple!
The banner can be downloaded below.
As I promised, you can download the fullsize banner by heading over to Design Dazzle. This banner is part of her summer camp series. She has a great DIY tutorial for a snow cone stand and used my banner as part of the tutorial.
