Puppy Paw-ty Ideas

Puppy Paw-ty

I am so honored to be able to share with you this amazing custom party that I created for Kristalynne! Her son’s first birthday party theme was all about puppies and Kristalynne carried the theme throughout the whole party!  There wasn’t a detail that she didn’t think of!  Below are some of her amazing photos – I’ll let the photos speak for themselves!

Kristalynne created so many amazing touches for Benjamin’s first birthday. She set the stage PERFECTLY with her hand-drawn chalk puppy paw prints leading to her front door.  What you don’t see here is that they actually extend down her driveway and to the sidewalk in front of the house!   She’s made several welcome signs that keep the theme flowing through the party:  from the sign on the lawn to the front door to the mantleplace to the Beware of Dog sign on the interior door….and don’t forget the amazing display she created at the changing table!  She used Staples to print a poster and then accented the area with the amazing balloon columns you see in the photos.

Per Kristalynne:
The balloon columns made the whole party really festive. I purchased the balloons at party city and a friend built the poles and stand. A helium tank can be purchased at Target. Tie the tails of 4 balloons together, slip them over the pole and repeat…..45 mins later, you can have 4 awesome balloon columns.

A welcome sign was created as a huge paw-print on the front door using foam core and green/orange duct tape. The yard sign was created using foam core on green poster board backing and the sign was outlined with paw-print ribbon from Michaels.

Mantle sign and decorations. For the sign, I used green poster board and made stripes with paw-print ribbon. The ribbon was glued to the postboard. I cut “BOW-WOW” out of orange poster board and used sticker letters from Michaels for WOOF and Grrrr. On either side of the sign, I placed duct tape and alternated orange and green streamers. I dusted the duct tape (very lightly) with flour so it would not peel the paint off the mantle, but was still sticky enough to stay put. The green paper balls on either end of the mantle were purchased at Wal-Mart.

Miscellaneous Items:

The Cake was created by Jenny’s Bakery in Webster, Texas.

The Party plates were designed on partydestination.com

Instead of a guest book, guests left their “paw-print” on a picture frame mat. The mat was then used to frame a photo of everyone at the party.

Giftbags were created using puppy dag themed bags filled with hershey kisses with personalized stickers on the bottom of each kiss.

Pictures of the birthday boy’s first year were displayed on the gift table

Kristalynne created her own custom printables package from Swish Designs.  Her package included:
  • Custom 6×9 puppy paw-ty invite
  • Custom return address label
  • Custom water bottle labels – with 5 designs
  • Custom food labels
  • Custom 2.4×4 foot banner
  • Custom thank you card

She did an amazing job putting together her party!  The water bottle labels were printed on white copy paper and adhered to the bottles using double stick tape.  She even had the cutest stamp that she purchased at Michaels for the lids!

The food that was served was also “puppy themed”.  She had Scooby Snacks, Puppy Chow, Go Fetch,  Bark Bark, Pup corn, Hot Dawgs, and Puppy Faces.    Everything was served in cute dog bowls that she purchased from the dollar store.

What an amazing party!  Thank you Kristalynne for allowing me to share it!
