Valentine’s Day Craft – for Mops {Free Printable}

One of my saving graces (as a mom) is the local Mothers of PreSchoolers group (MOPs) that I have been a member of for YEARS!  I joined our local group through Valley Springs Presbyterian Church when my oldest was 18 months old and I have loved every minute of it.  (He just turned 7…and my daughter is 3.5.)  I’ve loved it so much so that I was also part of our steering team.

One of the highlights of our group is the fun (and useful) crafts that we create.  Over the years we’ve created some amazing crafts:  homemade vanilla extract, coaster tiles, gratitude journals, and the project I’m about to share with you:  Valentine’s Day Paper Banners.

Liz (our craft leader) is amazing. She has such great ideas for crafts and I have to say that this one is no exception.

She also asked me if I’d be willing to create some 2″ circles for each end of the banner.  Of course I will!  I created 3 designs:  Be mine, xoxo, and Happy Valentine’s Day.   The great thing about these toppers is you can also use them for your valentine’s projects at school, at home, at preschool, etc.  They are the perfect size tag – and you can download them for free here!

So back to the project, Liz provided the moms with a wide assortment of cut-to-size scrapbook paper (along with a template that you could trace to get the shape you wanted), letters that spelled: “xoxo” or “Love”, my printables for the endcaps, bakers twine, adorable buckets (source: Target), pre-cut dowels, floral foam for the buckets (along with glass marbles to weight the buckets down), and even the “shred” to cover the top of the buckets.

This super fun project could easily be replicated for any holiday – I can’t wait to whip one up for St. Paddy’s Day!.  Liz takes such awesome care of us and had the letters pre-cut using her Silhouette but you could easily print them on your home printer and hand cut (it’s only 4 letters – don’t panic)!  Just pick your font and print!

Here’s the link to the download for the circles that we used on each end.  They are perfect for a 2″ round punch – or use them as gift tags on your little one’s classroom Valentine’s or as cupcake toppers!  I personally love to make mini-banners out of them!   Enjoy!
